It is a fact that 60% of India still remains under developed
and much of the confines of this lack of development are in the rural sector. Though
the rural sector contributes tremendously to the vote bank and ironically is the
real elector of a government, much of the sector remains neglected, with poor sanitation,
poor infrastructure, poor employment, poor education and poor healthcare. abhaya
contributes to rural development by acting as a bridge and showcasing problems of
selected rural communities to the mainstream society and the government and bringing
in resources that could improve the lives in these communities.
